One Connect Box Dimensions

What Benefits of in-Wall Concealment for the One Connect Box?

In-wall concealment for the One Connect box provides many benefits.
  1. It declutters your living space by hiding unsightly cords and wires.
  2. It protects your gear from damage by keeping it out of reach of curious pets and children.
  3. It helps to prolong the life of your equipment by preventing dust and dirt from accumulating on the exposed ports and connections.
  4. It gives your home theatre setup a sleek, professional look that will impress your friends and family.
So if you’re looking for a way to take your home theatre to the next level, in-wall concealment is the way to go.

The new 2022 Slim One Connect Box dimensions are 13 x 11.5 x 1.62 inches or 33.02 x 29.21 x 4.1 centimetres. The box is slimmer, sleeker, and takes up less space than the previous model, making it perfect for those with limited real estate for their home theatre setup. The new design looks great with any TV style and compliments a minimalistic living room aesthetic.

The old model was also pretty big and clunky, so the new dimensions are a welcome change. If you’re looking for a top-of-the-line home theatre experience, you need the new Slim One Connect Box from Samsung. It’s the perfect addition to your already amazing TV.

What Size AV Back Box Do I Need?

An experienced installer knows that choosing the right AV back box is essential for a proper installation. But with so many different sizes and styles on the market, it can be hard to know which one is right for your project. Here are some tips to help you choose the right AV back box for your next installation.

For 32″ frame TVs, we recommend using a 9×14 inch AV back box with the Mini One Connect Box. This small box can be installed horizontally towards the bottom of the TV.

For 50″ and 43″ frame TVs, we recommend using a 9×14 inch AV back box with slight modification. These boxes are smaller and easier to hide behind the TV.

And for 55″ and larger frame TVs, we recommend using a 17×14 inch AV back box. These boxes are easy to install and provide plenty of space for your Slim Fit wall mount.

Why Do You Need In-Wall Concealment for the One Connect Box?

When protecting your investment, there is no such thing as being too careful. The last thing you want is your expensive television to be damaged by a power surge or voltage spike. That’s why using an in-wall concealment system for your One Connect Box is important. Not only will this keep your cable tidy and out of the way, but it will also provide an extra layer of protection against electrical hazards.

In addition, concealing your One Connect Cable will give your home a sleek and polished look, ensuring that your television blends seamlessly into your décor. So if you’re looking for a way to safeguard your investment and give your home a stylish upgrade, an in-wall concealment system is the way to go.

How Do We Do It

AV Back Box Installation

  1. First, we need to find the studs in your wall where you want to mount your Frame TV. We can do this by using a stud finder.
  2. We will find the studs in the wall and then use a width x height outline to mark where the AV Back Box should go. TheBack Box should be between 2 studs and completely hidden from view by the TV once it is mounted on the wall.
  3. We will cut and remove the drywall along the lines we’ve drawn. It should be exactly (w x h) the dimension of the AV Back Box.
  4. After we recessed the AV Back Box into the wall, we will cut it open and install a Power Outlet inside.

Power Outlet Inside AV Back Box

5. The One Connect Box needs to be plugged into an outlet inside the AV Back Box.

Frame TV Installation

6. Install the wall bracket for your Frame TV so that it is partially overlapping / covering the AV Back Box if necessary. We place the One Connect Box into the AV Back Box and plug in the One Connect Cable and power cord to their corresponding source.

SUM

7. The final step is to take the One Connect Cable and plug it into your Frame TV. Next, secure your TV to the wall bracket.

Questions we get asked

Frame TV Installation Questions, Answered

What people ask before booking a Frame, Canvas or Gallery install. If yours isn’t here, just ask us.

Which TVs do you install as Frame TVs?

Samsung Frame, Hisense Canvas and LG Gallery sets. They all mount flush on a slim no-gap bracket so the panel sits flat against the wall like a picture instead of standing off it, and they all need the wall prepared more carefully than an ordinary TV does.

How much does Samsung Frame TV installation cost?

From $200 for sets up to 65 inches and from $250 for 75 to 77 inch sets on regular drywall. That covers the installation itself. Recessing the One Connect box into the wall is an added charge, and above a fireplace or on marble and stone we quote directly once we've seen a photo.

What is the One Connect box and where does it go?

It's the separate box that holds all the ports, so the only thing running to the screen is a single thin, nearly invisible cable. It can sit in a cabinet, but most people want it out of sight, which means recessing it into the wall behind or below the TV.

What size AV back box do I need for a Frame TV?

For 32 inch Frame TVs we use a 9x14 inch AV back box with the Mini One Connect box, fitted horizontally towards the bottom of the TV. For 43 and 50 inch sets, a 9x14 inch box with slight modification. For 55 inch and larger, a 17x14 inch back box, which also leaves room for the Slim Fit wall mount.

How big is the Slim One Connect box?

The 2022 Slim One Connect box measures 13 x 11.5 x 1.62 inches, or 33.02 x 29.21 x 4.1 centimetres. It's noticeably slimmer than the model it replaced, which is what makes recessing it into a standard back box practical rather than a project.

Why recess the One Connect box into the wall?

It keeps the cabling out of sight and out of reach of pets and children, keeps dust off the ports, and gives you the flat gallery look the Frame is designed for. It also means there's nothing sitting on a shelf waiting to be knocked off.

Will there really be no gap behind the TV?

That's the point of the slim-fit no-gap mount, and yes, provided the wall behind it is flat and the bracket is shimmed properly. Frame installs are unforgiving that way: with nothing standing off the wall there's nowhere to hide a bracket that's a few millimetres out, and that alignment is most of the work.

Can a Frame TV go above a fireplace?

Yes, with the screen above the mantel so the shelf takes the rising heat, and the height set off your seating rather than off the mantel. A metal mount above a fireplace starts at $399.99, and marble or stone surrounds we quote on a photo first.

Can I use the mount that came with the TV?

Samsung supplies a slim-fit no-gap mount with most Frame sets. If yours came with one we'll fit it, once we've checked the wall can carry the screen. If it didn't, or the wall needs something different, we'll bring the right bracket and tell you why before anything is drilled.
